I have a work related injury-surgery coming up in September. It will be on Workers Comp, of course. But I also have been paying into Short Term Disability. Can i draw upon the STD to compensate for the short fall of income from Workers Comp?

~~Yes, if you are off work to due an injury, then your secondary policy will kick in. It does not matter if you are collecting W.C. or not, unless stated specifically in your policy. I’ve never seen that exclusion in one, but you would need to check to be absolutely sure.~~

Well, yes, but it’s not cumulative. The MOST you can get, is the larger of the two payments. If you draw on STD, the WC carrier is entitled to reimbursement from them, of up to 100% of the amount they pay to you, and you get the difference.
