Can you qualify for your work’s short-term disability insurance if you’ve been out sick for a week and need to miss more time? I have the flu. Would that count?

Hello,
This will typically depend on your employer’s policy. They may require that you use up all of your sick days before short-term disability kicks in. Once it does, you can generally be covered within the first 14 days of sickness or illness.
Hope this helps!

Most of the time, you have to be out at least 30 days.
