Full ride scholarships for non traditional students?

In: Mortgage

After much nagging from my in-laws, I took my GED test (so that my husband would take his, too).
A passing battery average is 450. My battery average was 730. I was encouraged to look into going to college, and to take the ACT test. My composite score was 29, broken down as follows:
English 33
Math 23
Reading 35
Science 25
(I dropped out of school when I was 14 to support my brothers and sisters…I had no clue about the biggest majority of the math that was on the ACT…I just stink at Science…)

When I looked into financial aid, a lot of the scholarships were for traditional students, single parents, and those on government assistance. My husband and I don’t have any children, but we do have a mortgage and bills. We don’t have a lot (or any) left over at the end of the month, but we pay what we owe. We’ve worked really hard to get what we have, and I don’t want to go into debt and risk losing what we’ve been able to acheive… (its not much, but its ours!)

Does anyone have any info on scholarships that might help me? Its just a little depressing. It seems like I’ve had to work my tush off in life just to get by (which I guess a lot of people do). I’ve gotten really used to squelching ambition, and then I get a little bit of hope from the tester at the GED place and SPLAT!!! it gets squashed like a bug because I work hard and can pay my bills and don’t have kids! That sounds really whiney, I know…life is unfair (trust me, I know) and I don’t mean to sound so bitter.

Anyway, if anyone can help me that would be great! Thanks!
