I was looking into FAFSA and the state financial aid deadline is march 1 for my state but then the federal financial aid is in june. I understand the money comes from the state or the federal gov, but why different dates for the same application?

My husband and I will both be entering the education field shortly. We currently live in Florida, but with rising home and insurance cost we are afraid we won’t be able to stay. Not to mention homeowners insurance. Teachers here make about 6000.00 below the national average, and health insurance is expensive.
